I hope you are all having a great week! Before I start blogging about our travel adventures I wanted to update you on my Atlanta Bucket List…overall we did pretty good. There are a handful (five to be exact) that I wasn’t able to get to. We made a choice our last week in town to spend time with friends as much as we could instead of running around trying to see sites or revisit places. Friendships mean so much more than seeing sites or eating at restaurants that will still be there when we get back. And if they are not still around then it’s probably better we didn’t spend time or money there!

So here goes…those with a check by it are the once we accomplished. In addition to these we also stopped by Woody’s Cheese Steaks for a bite. This is another spot I wish I had known about before…the BEST cheese steak I have had in Atlanta by-far. I wasn’t even that hungry when we went and wanted to split a sandwich with RG but he insisted we get our own. Good call! There was not even a crumb left from mine!

- Westin Sundial Restaurant √
- Ann’s Snack Shop – To try the world famous Ghetto Burger √
- Season’s 52 in Buckhead √
- Great food and ambiance. Not a restaurant unique to Atlanta but definitely worth checking out. This is a good place to take family when they visit, the staff is super knowledgeable about the food and wine menus.
- Six Feet Under √
- Visit Carter Center
- Dawsonville outlet shops √
- Visit Fox Theatre √
- Brunch at Ria’s Bluebird Cafe √
- Wow! Now I understand why there is always a long wait on the weekends. The menu is unique and has a lot of different options. I couldn’t decide what to get but finally ended up with the French Toast with caramelized bananas and Nutella cream cheese. It literally melts in your mouth. It was a bit rich but I wouldn’t have changed anything about it.
- Sweetwater Brewery
- Gladys Knight Chicken and Waffles
- Push Start Kitchen √
- Tour Oakland Cemetery
- Cafe Jonah √
- See Yacht Rock Revue one last time √
- We were able to see them perform at Park Tavern’s Shamrock Fest, great time! Some of you may not be familiar with this band…they play 70’s and 80’s music and rock out. They are huge in Atlanta and are growing in popularity in NYC and DC. They kind of remind me of the Leg Warmers for those of you in the DC area. Such a fun show and the fans always get into it.
- A final bowling competition between RG and myself √
- Blind Willies
- We did not make it here, but instead went next door to Limerick Junction the night before St. Patrick’s Day. I was having a lot of fun until the performer called me out for yawning and made me get on stage and act out some weird signs to go with a song. First of all, I was only on my second drink, so this was not amusing to me. And really, if no one is into your songs maybe there is a reason and you shouldn’t bully your crowd into getting up there. Ugh! I really like Limerick Junction though, just wasn’t too found of the performer.
Overall I think this is a pretty successful list…now I need to make one for our travels in Asia!
