Bangkok may be more known for its distinct smells, over-crowded sidewalks and smog…but right in the heart of the city you can find a refreshing break from all of that. Lumpini Park is nestled among some of Bangkok’s most luxurious hotels, a BTS and MRT station, and just a short walk from the shopping hub of Siam. Here you will breathe fresh air, witness various fitness groups exercising, have the chance to feed fish and work out to your heart’s content.

A few weeks ago RG and I headed here for the first time to see what this park has to offer. It really is charming in a way that is difficult to describe. There are random statues situated throughout the park that just don’t always make sense…various work out facilitates at every turn…and people of all ethnicities enjoying the fresh air.
Rather than me ramble on and on about what Lumpini Park has to offer…check out the pictures that we captured along our two-hour escape here. It is Bangkok’s version of NYC’s Central Park and Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. While it will probably never quite measure up to either of those parks to me, it is probably more because of the memories, history and love I have for those cities that Bangkok cannot measure up to…at least not yet.
I hope you enjoy! And if you are on your way to Bangkok it is definitely worth a stop by here…
