Angkor Wat

Happy Friday!  After two weeks traveling through Cambodia we have found our way back to Bangkok for a few days before hitting the road again.  I didn’t really know what to expect in Cambodia, but as a whole the country blew me away.  There is so much history from Angkor Wat to Pol Pot that I am embarrassed to say I didn’t know much about before visiting here.

Depending on which list you read Angkor Wat can often found be found as one of the “7 Wonders of the World,” and this is a title it definitely deserves. It is the largest religious complex in the world, built initially as a Hindu city. Rather than ramble on about how amazing it was I will just share some pictures.  These really don’t do it justice, but it is a glimpse of the stunning architecture we witnessed.  I still cannot believe these structures were built by hand, it puts many of our modern-day buildings to shame.

This would have been a great shot if that man in the red scarf wasn't standing there!
