What I’ve been up to…

The weekend is here, we made it!  Coming off of a long weekend in Chattanooga and a short three day work week, I am heading off to Florida this weekend and can’t wait for some fun in the sun and relaxation.  It’s been a busy start to the year around here – January is always a bit crazy work-wise for both myself and Ryan, and on top of that we’ve had a lot going on from Jackson’s birthday to weekend trips and being slightly over committed when we are here.  I have not been doing as good of a job at setting those boundaries as I had hoped this year!  But since I have been a little quite on here I thought I would share a little update on what we’ve been up to around here.

Cooking – These cranberry white chocolate chip scones, I am not a huge breakfast person so it’s great to have these around to just grab and go and eat while drinking my coffee.

Reading – I just finished Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, it was an easy read and overall I really enjoyed it.

Watching – The Olympics, I definitely enjoy watching the summer games more than winter but I still can’t stop watching. It’s incredible what these athletes can do!

In my earsAtlanta Monster podcast – I’m back onto my true crime listening kick and this one hits close to home.  I can’t believe I wasn’t aware of this prior to listening to the podcast.

Favorite part of last week – Seeing Jackson enjoy all of the trains in Chattanooga.  An update on this trip is coming soon, but we spent last weekend just over the TN border checking out Chattanooga and watching Jackson get so excited to ride and tour all of the train attractions there was so cute.

Looking forward to – This weekend…I can’t wait to relax, lay by the pool, soak in the sun and celebrate a special couple in St. Pete.

Recent travels – New York City and Chattanooga

Upcoming travel plans – St. Pete, FL and New York City again

Current project – Trying to figure out if what our next house project will be – on the table are small ones like a new backsplash, retiling of the guest bathroom and building out our laundry room to a BIG project of building out our attic space and adding a second floor up there.  Oh the decisions!

Goals for spring – Be outside as much as possible!  It was 80 degrees yesterday and we’re just in February, I can only imagine how hot this summer will be, so I want to take advantage of the spring weather as long as I can.

xo, Nicole
