Chomp and Stomp

Hello my friends!  I am loving the weather right now…the cooler air always makes me crave a good home cooked meal and warm tea or apple cider.  Chili is one of my favorite dishes to make this time of year.  While I still haven’t had the chance to make my own batch I did make my way to Atlanta’s chili cookoff, also known as Chomp and Stomp, this past weekend.  And let me tell you…I ate enough chili to satisfy my craving for at least a couple of weeks.

Last Atlanta Bucket List Update

I hope you are all having a great week!  Before I start blogging about our travel adventures I wanted to update you on my Atlanta Bucket List…overall we did pretty good.  There are a handful (five to be exact) that I wasn’t able to get to.  We made a choice our last week in town to spend time with friends as much as we could instead of running around trying to see sites or revisit places.  Friendships mean so much more than seeing sites or eating at restaurants that will still be there when we get back.  And if they are not still around then it’s probably better we didn’t spend time or money there! Ann’s Snack Bar

I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was spent checking off bucket list items and preparing for our farewell road trip to see family and friends. As you read this RG, Marley and myself are packed down on our way to DC. We will be on the road for the next week and a half. I hope to update you along the way, but don’t hold it against me if my posts are a bit spread out. This is a jam-packed trip…stopping in VA/DC to see my family, a night’s rest at the casino in WV, a night on the town in Indianapolis with great friends, a longer stop in Columbus IN with RG’s family and then a quick night out in Nashville. Whew!

Enough about our trip…I wanted to take this post to share about my experience at Ann’s Snack Bar a couple of weeks ago. It was not what I expected and actually exceeded my expectations… Read More

On to the next chapter

My Weather Channel Team...Farewell!
My work family…Farewell!

Happy Friday!!!

Friday’s are my favorite day of the week…the end of the work week and the excitement about the weekend ahead.  Today is bitter sweet though, it is officially my last day of work.  I knew this day was coming, I have been looking forward to it…but goodbyes are always hard.  Being in a cubicle environment this past year has brought my coworkers into my everyday life. I know I will remain in touch with many of them, but the bond we have with our day to day banter will never be the same. I am so excited about the chapter ahead, but am sad to end this one.

Atlanta Bucket List Update

Just a quick stop in to see where we are with the bucket list…I have been working hard on crossing off items, but have not been doing as well as I had hoped.  In my defense, I have done a lot recently in addition to this list…like going to the Argosy restaurant opening, having a girls night out, throwing drinks back at the local speakeasy, eating at Leon’s Full Service and getting my hair did.  I feel like I haven’t slept in three weeks!!  But it is so worth it…now onto the recap: Read More

Atlanta Bucket List

So now that the cat’s out of the bag I can post my Atlanta Bucket List.  Over the holidays RG and I made a list of everything we want to see, do and eat before we leave this fabulous city.  We have already accomplished some of them, and I have high hopes we can accomplish all of them.  Since our time is limited the list is not too long…believe me I could add a lot to it (and just might) but I want it to be realistic! Best Thai food in Atlanta

For years I have walked past this restaurant and had no desire to step foot inside.  It looks like an old house with overgrown bushes and tarps covering the windows.  To be honest I couldn’t imagine how it would pass a health inspection or what they might be cooking in there.  About two years ago I was invited to a friend’s baby sprinkle and it was going to be held at Panita Thai Kitchen.  I had no idea where this place was…come to find out it was the restaurant I have stayed away from for years.  I was intrigued…and to say that I was impressed was an under statement.  Now, RG and I make it our mission to introduce people to Panita’s.
