Friday reads from around the web

And, queue the music, we made it to Friday!  I don’t know about you, but this week seemed to move so slowly for me, but we’re here.  And I couldn’t be more excited for this weekend…my parents are flying in tonight, and Ryan and I get to sneak away on Saturday and Sunday to go to Music Midtown.  Bruno Mars, Mumford & Sons, Naked & Famous and Future here I come!

I like to spend my Friday mornings catching up on articles I’ve bookmarked throughout the week. So in that spirit, I thought I would share a few pieces that have been on my recent lists. Hope you enjoy!   Read More

Riviera Maya, Mexico…with a toddler

What a crazy few weeks weather-wise we’ve had! I really everyone in the path of Harvey and Irma are safe. It seems Mother Nature is not too happy these days, I’ve had Mexico on my thoughts a lot lately and everyone affected by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami warning there.  This got me thinking about our recent trip down to the Riviera Maya and how every time I visit Mexico we meet some of the friendliest and welcoming people. And that’s a wrap summer

Right  now I am supposed to be on my way to the airport and heading to Siesta Key for a much-needed girls weekend.  A couple of my closest girlfriends and I take a long weekend each year and head somewhere to relax, sip fun cocktails and catch up.  Unfortunately, Hurricane Irma had other plans for us though, and instead we’ll all be staying home this weekend. Summer Vibes

I can’t believe summer is quickly coming to an end.  I had high hopes for this season, and it definitely did not disappoint.  I know I’ve been a little slack on posting here…the late nights and long weekends have gotten the best of me.

Rather than write up everything we’ve been up to, I thought I would share our summer so far through pictures.  I hope you enjoy! Read More

Staplehouse | America’s Best New Restaurant of 2016

Where has summer gone? I don’t know about you but I cannot believe we’re already in August! I’ve been meaning to write about Staplehouse for well over a week now, but time has just gotten away from me.  Alas, here we go…Ryan and I recently had a date night with some old friends who we don’t get to see often enough and decided to check out Staplehouse.

If you haven’t heard of it, especially if you live in Atlanta, you’re missing out!  It’s been on my radar for a while, we actually had lunch reservations here when they first opened but ended up going somewhere else instead. Fail! Shortly after we cancelled our reservations Bon Appétit named it No. 1 on their list of America’s Best New Restaurants and since it’s nearly impossible to get into. Read More

Friday reads from around the web

Happy Friday!  Here’s another round up of what I’ve been reading around the web.

Every weekday morning I try to set aside 30 minutes or so to drink some coffee and get caught up on news and the blogs I follow.  It’s pretty cathartic for me and gets my day started off right.  And since I always like to see what other people are reading I thought you all may be be interested in some of what I read.  I hope you enjoy these round ups! Traveling with a baby or toddler

Jackson and I are heading to Virginia this weekend, and it’ll be our first mother/son solo trip.  I’m really looking forward to it, but would by lying if I said I wasn’t  a little nervous about the flights without having Ryan there to help.  As I started planning and packing it got me thinking about the first time we flew with Jackson, when he was about four months old.  At the time I scoured blogs, Pinterest and various other sites for the best tips, tricks and hacks for flying with an infant.  Since then Jackson is a regular at the airport, with 12 flights under his belt. So I thought I would share what we’ve learned along the way and what has worked well for us.
