My neighborhood spot . . . P’Cheen

Update: This restaurant has since closed

Do you have that restaurant that you love, frequent often, close to home, and you can never go wrong with what you order? If not, you should really find one! That is what P’Cheen is to us. It is around the corner from our apartment, we can walk there and the staff are people you wish were your friends. It is our go to place for a random weeknight dinner, low-key birthday celebration, holiday party or just to grab a drink.

P’Cheen has neighborhood charm with an edge of flirtiness. The dishes represent all sides of the globe…from Italy to India. At night the DJs spin old-school hip hop, think Snoop’s first album, mixed with indie hits like Of Monsters and Men. You can relax on a plush leather couch noshing their appetizers and sipping specialty moonshine cocktails or sit at a candlelit wooden carved table.

My absolute favorite thing to order is their appetizer “Just Trust Us.” Every single time it is different…it’s the chef’s choice and they mix up a random plate you would never think to order. No table will receive the same dish. We have had everything from curried crab legs to a Mexican pizza to feta cheese lasagna. Only warning…if you have any allergies stay away because there are no special requests. My favorite drink option there is called a “Double Fister.” For $5 you get a beer and shot of moonshine. How can you turn this down?!?! I definitely can’t!!

Here are some of my favorites, if you are in the neighborhood swing by and you’ll probably find us here.
